Fannie Walker Pace   (Mother of Penoma Ophelia 
Seay Vincent my grandmother) married in 
1882 and her mother, Pauline Paulina Jane 
Seay Pace was married in 1849. 
     A record of an heirloom spread in possession 
of my grandmother at the time (now in 
possession of Evelyn V. Farris) is duplicated 
as follows: 
          "given to grandmother when she
          married in 1849 given to mother 
          1882 when she married.  given 
          To me in 1906 when I married."
     me herein refers to Penoma Ophelia SEAY"

[17 following this page is dated "13 Aug 75."  This page was therefore   ] 
[written sometime between those dates.                                   ]

[Sometime after I had written this in my research log I asked Aunt Evelyn] 
[what happened to the heirloom spread mentioned in the note.  She said it] 
[had fallen apart so she threw it away.  I can't help but wonder if she  ] 
[was lying to avoid telling me she had given it to someone else or was   ] 
[still saving it.  She did things like that on occasion.                 ]
