Samuel Maycock - His Story and Lineage - THIS IS THE PDF REFERRAL PAGE |
||||||||||||
My family descends from George Pace. George Pace's wife was Sarah Maycock. Sarah's father was Samuel Maycock. I've created this page to share his story. THIS PAGE IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTON. For now, it is for illustration purposes only. Click your web browser's back button or, to return to the page for George Pace, CLICK HERE. There are various spellings for the surname: Maycock, Maycox, Macocke, and so on. Our modern way of fixed spellings wasn't used in earlier times. On this TEMPORARY PAGE, I will explain the details of a PDF file in my own words. I will go over the major points, add whatever I think is needed that my distant American relatives may need, then provide a link to the FINAL VERSION of the original, unaltered PDF document. The PDF document will go into detail about Sam Maycock's history. This page will be only to explain wording and some historical points as a frame of reference for the PDF document. CLICK HERE to View the PDF Document referred to above. PLEASE NOTE: Ron Vincent is responsible for any errors you may find. All credit for this research goes to the author. Your web browser must be capable of opening and viewing PDF documents. Most devices accept this but some require you to download the file first then open it in a separate viewer. EXPLANATION OF THE PDF DOCUMENT
(the following words are for illustration purposes only!) The attached document is in the style of an essay with facts listed as headers and sub-headers. You will note that on, on page one, the PDF document mentions that the Maycock family hailed from Yelvertoft, Northants. "Northants" is an abbreviation for Northamptonshire (County of Northampton). Following a description of Sam's family and siblings is a screen capture of an image copied from Ancestry.co.uk giving details. It shows how sources explain that Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, so on, and etc., etc., etc. This is followed by a table that explains Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, so on, and etc., etc., etc. On Page 2 of the PDF document, you will find Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, so on, and etc., etc., etc. Keep in mind that most of our kin today think in terms of Modern times and American interpretations of words and phrases, of politics, society standards, and so on. Sam's associates and his entire society considered themselves to be English, NOT American. They lived here as they did in Europe under the same influences. Terms that may seem famliar often had very different meanings to him and everyone he knew. These will be explained as we continue or you may CLICK HERE for a glossary of terms. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, so on, and etc., etc., etc. . |
