The relationship between Marion Blake and his mother, Dicie Griffin, was proven by Chester Johnson. Chester was an archaeologist and and excellent Blake Family researcher. His notes and sources are included in his book, The Blakes of Bibb County Alabama 1819-1988 (pub. 1988; out of print). I have not copied or researched his sources to confirm their proof.
