There is an 8 year old "Eady" listed as a daughter in the household of William Fulmer on the 1850 Census for Coosa County, Alabama. Eady Ann Frances "Fannie" Fulmer was still living in Coosa County when she appeared on the marriage license with Jesse E. Smith. The marriage record shows that Jesse E. Smith was a "male of lawful age." However, Fannie required the "written consent of parent" in order to legally marry. The legal age of marriage for a female in the State of Alabama is 18. This must mean that Fannie was not quite 18 when she married on 19 January 1860. She is living in in the household of Jesse Smith on the 1860 Census for Coosa County which shows her age as 18.
