We know Jesse Smith is our ancestor (my 2nd-great-grandfather) but in 50 years of research we've never found out who his parents were. Here's where the discovery of yDNA have been such a blessing. George Smith was closely related to Jesse, possibly his father. This is why I've placed George in my pedigree as my 3rd-great-grandfather for now. This may change later as new discoveries are made. George's wife was Mary Tyner. Thanks to a War of 1812 widows pension she applied for in 1871, we know a few things about George. . |
